I don't know. It's... different. Shibuya was... busy.
[This place seems a little busy. He supposes. The view outside of the window seems... static, no time passing by. Like a moving picture, but one which never changes.]
Konoha is a village at the bottom of a mountain, surrounded by a forest. Konohagakure. The Village Hidden in the Leaves. [He's a country boy. Kinda.] I'll get use to it.
The reflection of him in the window gets the barest hints of a smile at the corner of his lips. He laughs, very quiet, an unused sound.] I know. [That would sure be something.
His gaze stays peering out of the window, but the look is distant.] I know Senri is trying to be optimistic, but... I probably won't get into your school. There's nothing to identify who I am. I'm not even from your world.
We could probably get Shigure to fake paperwork for us. Although maybe getting a favor from the mafia isn't the best idea... I assume he wouldn't make us indebted to him...
[ it's mumbled as he tries to figure out the logistics, then he shakes his head. ]
We can figure it out. Even if we can't make a convincing enough argument to get you into the special class with us, we could still manage the academy in general.
[His fingers fiddle with the zipper of the jacket as he turns his head back to look across at Taka.] You don't have to make exceptions. I'll manage. [Which is what he is somewhat good at. He's managed most of his life with a lot of things.]
I do have to go back to Konoha, to finish what I need to do. But... being on the outside. It's fine. I don't have to be there.
You keep saying that. [He drops the zipper and sits a bit straighter, his eye on Taka across the table.] But I won't ever be a normal teenager. My path... was different. My path is different. I'm--
[The burgers come, and he's startled into silence even though the faceless waitstaff aren't really going to hear or be interested in the arguments of two teens.
He drops his eyes and waits, but doesn't pick up where he left off even when the waiter leaves.]
[It’s so stupid and blunt. It’s so... it’s so Naruto, and he hates it. Don’t give up. Don’t give up. If he doesn’t try, he’ll just be one, two, five steps behind someone like Naruto. He sighs.]
Anyway, he starts eating his own burger. The great thing about getting Sasuke instead of Naruto in this regard is manners. Sasuke is quiet, doesn’t make a mess, doesn’t smack. He doesn’t try to talk with his mouth full or make a scene. In fact, his eye mostly goes out the window when he’s busy chewing, so he isn’t staring or watching Taka.
He gets through all of it but a small quarter before, flatly,]
he glances down at what's left of his own burger, thinking. taka covers the bottom of his face with the back of his palm, like he's trying to hide whatever expression is there. it lasts a moment until he lowers it again and shrugs. ]
The presentation was alright. But... it didn’t taste like they really enjoyed burgers. Just that they made it fancy.
[It’s given pretty nonchalantly, as if he doesn’t understand he’s complimenting Taka because he hadn’t intended for it to be something monumental. Just something observed.] I guess we should get back to Senri before he panics. [A pause. He glances up.]
Were you getting dessert? I don’t want any... but I can wait.
Then... a strawberry-peach parfait, and a coffee parfait. Both to go.
[ the waiter hurries off with their order.
once they're alone again, taka glances out the window. he figures senri would probably yell at him for not talking more whenever there's periods of long silence, but whatever. he's trying. ]
[It’s fine. Sasuke sits in the silence like it doesn’t bother him, like it’s preferred over having to bullshit conversation. After a bit, he shifts to get the camera out of the bag beneath the table. He peers at the restaurant and then the window, deciding. He takes a picture out of the window of pieces of Paris on the other side.
The photo goes into his pocket and the camera goes back into the bag. Weird.
He thinks he might be a little fond of it now that he’s actually been playing with it for a while.]
I never thought to worry about something so... [Not "stupid," but... trivial maybe? He doesn't come up with the word he's looking for, so he doesn't finish.] It's... sort of interesting.
[He glances at the dessert. This one isn't going to taste as good either, is it, he wonders. Maybe... friends making you things is what makes them taste better in the end.]
[ he wonders what sasuke was going to end the sentence with originally, but just shrugs it off and settles for standing up. he picks up his own parfait. ]

... and then he goes back to looking around the restaurant, because staring at sasuke while he looks at something else feels awkward. ]
Do you think you like it? The city?

[ he's going to assume that senri has mentioned yuma before because normally he cannot shut up about yuma. ]
Although there's probably no ninjas where he lives.
