[ Yu finds himself tugged from his thoughts when he spots that distinctive green hair out of the corner of his eye. Here in the East Wing, he has no intent other than to just head back to the hostel and ... figure out what to do, from there. [ it's on his profile, anyway. skills: listening, empathy. the fact that he'd like to be friends with the people here on a normal basis doesn't seem that odd. ]
[ Briefly, he's visibly taken aback. Then he'll rub the back of his neck and smile crookedly, a little touched. ]
Thanks. [ He huffs a laugh. Slightly wistful ] I had few friends growing up. Getting to know others, and forming bonds with them... it's important to me. I feel like there's always something I can learn.
[ he just looks at him for a moment; that line of thinking is at such a stark contrast to taka's own that he isn't even sure how to respond at first. ]
... what sort of things has Takaomi been through, to have that kind of outlook? ]
... I guess I should say it's more of a personal belief. That no matter what happens, my bonds with my friends won't break. Even if I can't know what will come in the future, or if things may go wrong... the connection we made will always be something I treasure. That's how I look at it.
he could argue further. that what if something goes wrong, and that bond sours, and what's left isn't something you treasure but something painful instead. but that may be revealing too much, so he shrugs. ]
week 1, saturday
[ Yu finds himself tugged from his thoughts when he spots that distinctive green hair out of the corner of his eye. Here in the East Wing, he has no intent other than to just head back to the hostel and ... figure out what to do, from there. But that plan (as much as it can even be called a plan) is derailed entirely when he realizes he's run into Taka.

Did I catch you on your way back?
no subject
[ he' not entirely sure if he wants to yet or not. taka's mostly just been walking around and didn't even notice he arrived at the east wing. ]
Not really. Just walking.
no subject
It's a genuine question when he says: ]
Mind if I join you, then?
no subject
Go ahead.
no subject
He'll remain quiet for a while, not immediately speaking up. It's not even that he's holding back; he's just naturally quiet.
But he will eventually glance over at the other boy. ]
What did you think of the trial?
no subject
[ they got it right in the end but
they were still mostly guessing. it doesn't really sit right iwth him. ]
no subject
It was more disorganized than I expected. Not that I blame anyone for that... I don't think anyone here is a seasoned lawyer.
[ somewhat dry. ]
Throwing a bunch of people together like that, to figure out such an emotional crime...
[ He doesn't finish the thought, but the sentiment is clear. It could have been a lot worse. ]
no subject
[ he says if, in the off chance no one decides to resort to murder, but considering it happened the very first week who fucking knows. ]
But it's hard to say since we have so many very different personalities.
no subject
A slight nod. ]
This is a really diverse group of people. In different circumstances, spending time with everyone... it would have been fun. [ wistfully. ]
no subject
You do seem like that type.
[ although the way taka says it, it doesn't sound like an insult. ]
no subject
That type?

What do you mean by bonds?
[ is it the senri definition of the word, or ]
no subject
Connections between people... a link that can't be broken by time or distance. Maybe it's being part of someone's heart...?
[ He looks almost wistful. ]
Bonds with others should give you strength. To step forward, and face whatever might come.
no subject
[ he glances at yu then away. ]
You can't say that nothing can get in the way of it if you can't predict the future.
no subject

That's very optimistic.
no subject
It's something I have to believe.
no subject
[ he's quiet for a moment ]
Just don't get too disappointed if it doesn't work out.
no subject
I'll keep fighting no matter what happens. If it doesn't work out, then I just have to try harder. That's what moving forward means, right?
no subject
It's one meaning, yeah.
