He's been blowing things up for me a little this week so my faith in him was already shaking - but it's hard for me to back someone who doesn't want to win, Ishirin-san. I know I only have to believe in balance but...
I wouldn't mind letting Bambi win, either, if you want my honesty.
There's also Beauty or Cheri - well, Cheri would be... an interesting leader... but his heart's always in the right place. Beauty would be good at it, and he's in the alliance that Mizuki-san and Majima-san built.

Evidently he had the same agreement with Ambition that he did with Cunning: if she should win, he would be given a platform to mediate and help her lead. When he realized he may actually win after all, which... was my fault, he thought she would feel betrayed if he suddenly took the lead and was victorious, and feared it would lead to further negativity. He was all right with taking a secondary position because he thinks the others have grown, and no longer thinks that they will only listen to him if he is the victor; Piety feared that allowing any feelings he had double-crossed anyone he had an alliance with would undo that.
...I told him he really ought to have spoken with me before taking it upon himself to explain to her himself that he did not ask this of anyone. But in any case-- so long as there is some reassurance the resentment he's concerned about will not remain a problem, he would be fully willing to accept the responsibility of leading. It's this situation that led to him telling Nito-kun he didn't wish to.
So... what... he wants us to talk to every god that he's made an alliance with and make them aware of what's happening, and be sure that they won't be mad?

It is not that she is young, Nito-kun. Piety is young too. So is Merriment, by our standards, and I trust both of them quite a bit. It is the impression I have gotten of her; I know she is your friend, but are you certain she'd be able to keep a level head and listen to the guidance she gets?
